Overview
As the Second
Life economy grows, the financial sector grows in unison. However, recently
residents have lost their faith both in banks and in stock exchange markets. The
real contact information
of most of the bank owners is unknown. Even with the real contact information
displayed,
how viable are their business strategies providing that the banks may generate
sufficient amount
of return to pay its customers in both principle and interests? The bank assets
are indeed intangible
assets, and we cannot be assured that the bank assets exist based on their submitted
monthly
reports, unless Linden Labs decide to step in.
Large
financial institutions including Ginko Financial and Midas Commons were established
as conducting fraudulent activities, one way or another. Every SL financial
institution, small or big, could just take the money and run, at any time.
Bank runs seem to be quite common and there must be a stop. Although we
cannot prevent fraud, we can mitigate risks. We, as investors, have full
authority when determining the amount to invest and to whom to entrust our funds
with. Investors should and must know that they are not limited to investing
in just one financial institution.
iVentures
Group has compiled a list of financial institutions operating in SL providing
investors with the following information: Bank Name, Bank Owner, Website,
Business Strategy, Products and/or Services Provided, Stock Exchange, Stock
Symbol, Daily Interest Rate %, # of existing customers, Total Deposits
to-date, Total Interest Paid to-date, and Insured by The Rock Insurance
Group.
All
of the financial information provided is available to the public. The information
has been consolidated through various sources including the banks websites,
Stock Exchange Forums, and directly speaking with the bank owners themselves
in-world. Investors are strongly suggested to diverse and perform due diligence
prior to depositing funds to a certain financial institution. Do your homework
and you can invest brilliantly. December
